History Of The BID

Stratford Upon Avon Business Improvement District (BID) has been in operation since April 2009 and is the trading name of Stratforward Business Improvement District Limited, a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee.

The BID currently represents more than 380 businesses across Stratford-upon-Avon Town Centre. All businesses with a Business Rateable Value above £15 000 within the Stratford-upon-Avon Town Centre geographical area currently pay 1.79% Levy based on their rateable value.

The BID began its current term on 1 April 2024 and the BID will operate until the 31 March 2029. 

Our projects outlined in the current Business Plan are: to deliver a comprehensive marketing strategy; run award-winning festivals; deliver security initiatives and offer a wide range of business support initiatives.

Stratford Upon Avon BID will collect and manage a budget, in excess of £1.9 million during the next five year BID Term. This is used to achieve the company’s key objective of bringing more people into Stratford Town Centre, making them stay longer, spend more and leave happy.
